Some Advantages of Choosing An Online Therapist

One of the great advantages of being an online therapist is being able to work with Turkish speaking community around the world; America, Far East as well as Europe and of course Turkey.

Advantages of choosing an online therapist

During transitions everything seems to change; a therapeutic relationship with an online therapist from the comfort of your home can be one constant in your or your loved one’s life to facilitate the process.

The Languages and Mixing of Cultures

Even though according to some resources there are only 75 million Turkish speakers around the world, Prof. Dr. Şükrü Halûk Akalın who served as head of the Turkish Language Association indicates 220 million.

Considering that the population of Turkey is under 80 million, majority are spread around the world. It is not surprising that my clients come from different continents.

It also helps that I speak English and French in addition to my native Turkish. Mixed marriages are becoming more and more common. I discovered that there are couples who need to engage their partners who speak a different language. Being part of a mixed culture family myself, with experience of living abroad I am able to help such couples resolve their differences and difficulties in adapting to each other and to their environment.

Being An Online Therapist Means We Are Not Dependent On Location

Choosing an online therapist is advantageous, as more and more people are mobile for their business and their time is limited.  My clients can connect with me from wherever they are without interrupting their business responsibilities.

I also facilitate joint family sessions when some family members have to travel for long periods of time or have to live in a  different country. For example, one of the couples with whom I am working with at present is in a long distance relationship. Recently, I gained hands-on experience of living in different countries from my daughter and husband. They are currently paying me a visit here in Turkey.

I work with couples struggling to adapting living abroad. When one of the partners is not interested in letting go of what they left in the motherland and they don’t want to learn the language or want to integrate, living abroad can be a great strain on the relationship.

Choosing an Online Therapist For Transitions

As an online therapist relatives of  young people who go abroad to study or to work needing help put me in touch with them.  We develop long term therapeutic relationship on their new path abroad. There are also families abroad who will need to adapt to getting married, to the arrival of their baby, or grieve about the loss of their parent; all this whilst they are deprived of their support group. When everything seems to change, online therapy provides respite for people in the comfort and convenience of their homes.

I work with families who are in the process of migrating. They change countries, businesses, homes, environment, and of course they leave friends and family members behind.  Online therapy can  be one constant in their lives to facilitate such transitions.

Online Therapy Is The Future

We live in a digital age. People want to find help on-line. They are used to doing so when they need to buy something unusual, and therapy is no exception. So far, as an online therapist I have discovered many methods to help couples, families and individuals using the technology.  Perhaps the greatest adventure of all is that I am still learning  and excited about the possibilities online therapy offers.
