Life Changing Decisions

Amazon is my 14 year old daughter. Her English homework about life changing decisions was so inspiring that I decided to share it with you:

There is never one life changing decision. Your life is built up on countless decisions and experiences.

You might have had many jobs. Among them there may be some that you didn’t enjoy. It isn’t the job you do that shapes your life. It is what you do in between your job that shapes your future.

I recommend that you give yourself enough time to rest and recover. Follow your hobbies. Make time to enjoy yourself. That being said use some of your time to research and take actions to get closer to your goal. If you want to be somewhere else in life you have to effectively put in the effort.

Life Changing Decisions

We should appreciate all experience even if it is a mistake, as they shape who we are. All of our experiences are stepping stones for us to grow.

You might have regrets in your life. There may be some experiences that you wish you didn’t have. You might wish that you hadn’t made that mistake. Don’t think like that. All of those experiences and blunders will help you in the future. Every resignation, application, good and bad manager, meeting, lunch break and every job you hate matter. They are all important. All of your strange and typical jobs are stepping stones for you to grow.

Life Changing Decisions And Plans

We can’t predict where we will be in the future. “Plans are useless, but planing is indispensable.” I suggest that you have an idea of where you want to go. It can be a large goal. You would have to create ways to get to it. It can be a small checkpoint that you want to reach. Be open to suggestions. You might want to do something. Unfortunately it clashes with your current goal. You shouldn’t let that stop you.

Be creative. Find new mediums. Implement them to things that you enjoy. When you have time, do things that you like to do. It might introduce you to something new. Try different things. Find your passion. Successful people were in similar situations as you. They found their passions. They followed them.

You don’t have to know what your passion is. Take your time looking for it. You might have to work for others before you can work for yourself. It is normal to not know what you want to do. Be patient with yourself. You will eventually figure it out. Put in the time and don’t give up.

If you want something you can get it. Whether you do achieve it depends on you. How long are you willing to work for it? If you continue to work for something you will get it. It might take a long time.

When you reach your goal remember all of your experiences. Appreciate your past struggles. You wouldn’t be where you are without them.

I think this is a very important lesson. Not just for reaching your goals but for day to day life as well. Everyone makes mistakes. Everyone has different experiences. They shape who we are now. They will help shape who we will become. We should appreciate them.
